Abu Dhabi:- Sheikh Khalifa bin Dhiab bin Saif Al Nahyan inaugurated the “Hawameer Freijna” Festival at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi. The event has been described as the first family heritage festival aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, trade, national heritage, and family values among children. According to Al Khaleej, the festival was organized by Emirati international fashion designer Dr. Mona Al Mansouri on the occasion of the “Year of the Family.”

The opening ceremony was attended by artist Zainab Al Askari, Egyptian media personality Bossi Shalaby, along with several artists, media figures, and distinguished guests. Before the official opening, Sheikh Khalifa bin Dhiab toured the “Al Tajer Al Hamour” exhibition, held under the theme “Today’s Young Trader, Tomorrow’s Big Trader,” where nearly 43 young entrepreneurs showcased a variety of products.

The festival program highlighted heritage and creative activities for children. It included a special falconry demonstration featuring Rashid Al Kindi, Saeed and Hamdan Al Ameri, and Naeema Al Ameri. A short video was also screened, highlighting the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s love for falconry. The program further featured a video related to Children’s Fashion Week, along with a casual fashion show by young designers Saleh and Abdullah Al Teneiji.

Dr. Mona Al Mansouri presented a children’s fashion show featuring 23 summer designs inspired by the colors and concepts of fruits, vegetables, and the sea. The three-day festival also included workshops, competitions, a fashion show for families with their pets, and heritage songs for children.

At the closing ceremony, honors were presented to the festival’s patron, participating children, young falconers, children’s fashion designers, social media influencers, media representatives, and Maitha, a young girl who recovered from cancer.
